
About LETS
Rod Nelson retired from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office after over 23 years of service, concluding his career as a captain in the Civil Process Division. After his retirement, he practiced law with the firm Lommen, Nelson, Stageberg & Cole, P.A., where he served as the director of its training subsidiary, Comprendium. Currently, Nelson leads Law Enforcement Training Services, LLC (LETS), an organization dedicated to providing high-quality training and consulting services to law enforcement and related professionals.
LETS offers both direct instruction and seminars throughout Minnesota. A frequent lecturer, Nelson has presented for the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education, and the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association. He has also taught at multiple colleges, to include Concordia University. Additionally, he has authored legislation in the areas of debtor-creditor law, landlord-tenant law, domestic abuse, and other legal issues pertinent to the civil process responsibilities of sheriffs.
